Video Games Live

Video Games Live - orchestra+Lindsey, myself, and some guys from 1up games in Edinburgh travelled through to Glasgow to see Video Games Live last night. It was freakin awesome.

The music was great. My favourite performance was the opening theme to Civilization IV, which was a surprise because I’d forgotten what a great piece of music opens the game. It’s pretty epic. The performance of One Winged Angel was astounding. Despite not being a huge fan of the game the Halo performance was great, and the same applied for the Castlevania piece.

The Scottish National Orchestra and Chorus were phenomenal, and Jack Wall’s conducting was… well.. I don’t know much about conducting but he seemed pretty good. Tommy Tallarico was pretty entertaining and a great guitarist. The Video Game Pianist (Martin Leung) performed a Final Fantasy medley that was mind blowingly good.

Overall I have to give it four out of four.

  1. Send them here :( Sounds great, I’d really love to see/hear something like that

  2. According to their schedule they should be coming to Sweden some time in 2008. No dates though!

  3. Sounds awesome. Was it a one off performance or are they touring around?

  4. The performance with the Scottish National Orchestra was one off, but the act itself tours around. The schedule I linked to in the previous comment has a list of all their locations. :)
