What would you do in New York?
We’re going to New York in about four weeks. We have a few things planned, such as visiting the Nintendo World Store (it was pictured but Lindsey said I was a geek, so here is a more generic image instead
).
Do any of you have any suggestions for things that we can do on our visit?
I hear there is some sort of apple in New York. The way people talk, it could be big. You should go see the large piece of fruit.

..and you’re not a Nintendo fanboy?
I think the guy who’s flickr you took that from spent his whole time taking photos of signs. I suggest you don’t do that.
Personally, I’d like to see the Empire State, Brooklyn Bridge, Ground Zero and Ellis Island. Perhaps you could ask P Diddy when you get there though (nycvisit.com/jatl).

I will confess to being a Nintendo fan, but I take exception to the fanboy remark!
Don’t worry, mope, it would be totally out of character for me to take photographs of signs.
We discussed visiting Ground Zero. While I would find it interesting I think it’d also be pretty depressing, so I expect we’ll give that a miss. We should definitely be visiting the Empire State building and probably Ellis island. Not sure about the Brooklyn bridge, although I’m sure we’ll at least see it from a distance.

Go and see Time Square, I think that’d be interesting. Some people have all the fun :P

Get tickets for one of the hop-on hop-off tour buses, best way to get around when you’re seeing all the sights.

Thanks for all the suggestions so far! Really appreciate it
Are those bus tour things good? Part of me thinks we’d be better with just a guidebook wandering around… I’m never certain of these bus tours!

We found the buses useful simply for traveling between the major sights. If we were there longer I think it would of been fun to ride the subway and wander around more though.

Stu, I’m disappointed that you come off as less stable than Freshy.

I had the same reservations about a bus tour in Tallinn but it was actually really good. “CitySightseeing” do those bus tours all over the place including, for some completely bizarre reason, Aberdeen.
You should take a trip up to New Jersey. Red Bank to be precise. Visit “Jay and Silent Bob’s Secret Stash”.

You should tell Lindsey you don’t need to go anymore, you can discover everything and more by playing GTA.
